Douglas Marshall (Doug) Reese, 76, of Valdosta, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 27, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Lincolnton, GA on November 12, 1943 to the late Charlie Ross Reese and Eunice Eugenia Haynes Reese. He was a retired construction superintendent for Pinnacle Prime. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where he faithfully served as an usher, ministering to others. He invested his time into helping other people.
Doug is survived by his wife Kathy Reese, of Valdosta; his daughters Marsha Kay and Stanley C. Perry, of Dearing, GA, Tammy Haynes and Barry Herring, of Thomson, GA, Pam and Tim Reaves, of Hahira; his son Tim and Sherri Sutton, of Lawrenceville, GA; his grandchildren, Heather and Steve Grenat, of Valdosta, Jessica Rabun, of Dearing, GA, Amber Poss, of Evans, GA, Clay and Lauren Thomas, Dylan Sutton, Danielle Sutton, all of Valdosta, Taylor Evans, of Macon, GA, Ashley and Chris Gibson, of Bluffton, SC, and Michael and Sommer Reaves, of Hahira; his great grandchildren, Ethan Grenat, Jason Rabun, Aniela Grenat, Lauralynn Thomas, Trent Thomas, Maddilynn Thomas, Autumn Strickland, Aaron Strickland, Rylann Peterman, Brayleigh Patton, and Anniston Patton; his siblings, Russell and Carol Reese, of Lincolnton, GA, Dorothy Reese Edmunds, of Hickory, NC, Marietta Reese Stone, Myra Reese Griffith, both of Lincolnton, Emily Reese, of North Augusta, SC, Eugenia Reese Enlow and Chester Enlow, of Granville, SC, Barbara Reese LeRoy and Lamar LeRoy, Jack and Jamie Reese, Carol Reese Cox and Leon Cox, Edgar (Eddie) Reese, and Shearell Reese Scott and Alvin Scott, all of Lincolnton, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Jerry Blanchard Reese, Leon Morgan Reese.
Funeral services for Doug will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
