Deborah J. Strom, 33 of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at her residence after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on September 28, 1971 in Telfair County, she was the daughter of Mary Sue Jeffries and the late Dr. Joe Tom Jeffries of McRae. She received her Masters in Speech/Language Pathology from Valdosta State University and was employed as a Speech/Language Pathologist for the Lowndes County Board of Education. She was a member of Bemiss Road Baptist Church.
Mrs. Strom is survived by her husband, Eugene Edward Strom III of Valdosta; son, Nathan Edward Strom of Valdosta; sisters, Mary Jo Best of Carrollton, Amy J. Padgett of Milan; brother, Tom Daniel Jeffries of McRae; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Strom of Valdosta and a sister-in-law, Lu Baxa of Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Danny Edwards and Reverend Tony Howeth will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
